Monitor Arm Systems — Mechanism as Sculpture
An exploration of professional monitor arm design focused on integrating novel mechanical systems with fully resolved cable management.
This project offered an opportunity to treat mechanism as form, investigating alternative articulation strategies that resulted in more sculptural, expressive geometries. One concept employed large-diameter pivots to create a virtual mechanical linkage, giving the structure both clarity and visual weight while maintaining precise movement control.
A second concept focused on complete cable concealment within the arm structure itself, eliminating visible wiring and delivering a clean, uncluttered workstation aesthetic — where function, motion, and industrial design were fully unified.
