ClearView Toaster — Seeing the Process of Transformation

A prototype exploration for Kenwood investigating the technical and commercial challenges of bringing a clear-sided toaster to market.

The concept utilised transparent glass heating panels, allowing the user to visually follow the transformation of bread as it toasts in real time — turning a routine kitchen process into an observable experience.

The resulting prototype was fully functional and demonstrated the viability of the approach, positioning it as a complementary product within a broader “Chef” range of kitchen appliances.
