Novarix IV-Eye — Precision in Clinical Guidance

Novarix IV-Eye is a phlebotomy scanning system using infrared imaging to support accurate identification and guided needle placement during blood sampling procedures.

The project centred on translating a highly specialised sensing technology into a robust, manufacturable medical device capable of operating within strict clinical hygiene requirements.

Although the product presents a deceptively simple external form, it required a high level of injection moulding expertise, particularly in multi-layer overmoulding processes that are typically associated with elevated reject rates. Through careful process optimisation, the programme achieved low rejection rates while maintaining cost efficiency and ensuring compliance with necessary medical-grade hygiene standards.
